Join us for a webinar to learn about a new experiential learning course sponsored by the Centre for Transnational Mennonite Studies at the University of Winnipeg!
In May 2026, Dr. Aileen Friesen will teach the course “Mennonites and Conflict” in an exiciting new way, with a group of students travelling across Europe. Organized by Riesen Travel, this experiential learning course will explore Anabaptist and Mennonite understandings of and experiences with conflict along a historical route from Amsterdam through northern Germany to Gdansk. Students and passengers will investigate how Mennonites navigated conflicts with the state, theological and social discord within their communities, and business relations within the Hanseatic League.
During this webinar, we’ll walk through the course content and itinerary, highlight key historical sites, and answer your questions about travel and accommodations. Whether you’re a student, a scholar, or a curious traveller, this is your a chance to learn more about a rich and complex history in an immersive setting.
