“Very Peaceful Citizens”: Mennonites Establishing Settler Colonialism in 1870s Manitoba

For the Seventh Annual CTMS Lecture, Dr. Shelisa Klassen, 2022–2023 D. F. Plett Historical Research Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow, will present on her recent research connecting newspaper coverage of Indigenous peoples and Mennonites and other immigration concerns in Manitoba with the larger imperial press as a settler colonial institution.

Shelisa received her PhD in History from the University of Manitoba in 2022.
