It is widely recognized that after some 500 years, Mennonites have become a global community. Where are the origins of this transnational reality? Dr. Karl Koop suggests that we should look for answers to the worldly Dutch Mennonites, the subject of his CTMS Lecture.
The lecture will be followed by a reception with refreshments. A livestream is also available; register to receive a webinar link.

Dr. Koop is professor of history and theology at Canadian Mennonite University. He received his PhD from St. Michael’s College in the Toronto School of Theology. He has also taught at Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminaries, served in Brandenberg and Berlin with Mennonite Central Committee, and was a pastor in St. Catharines, Ontario. His publications include Anabaptist-Mennonite Confessions of Faith: The Development of a Tradition, and he is co-editor of Vision: A Journal for Church and Theology.
